I just wanted to do an informal poll, just to see the types of excuses SD’s have given y’all in order to back out of a meeting.
I have been the subject of the following ones, from various SB’s:
1. My pet got sick and had to take her to the vet
2. Sorry, I have now moved to Missouri, in order to get away from my family
3. Flight was delayed (that was actually true as it turned out)
3. Just got my period this morning
4. I have some infection but should get better soon
5. And of course, the no-shows.
Anyone care to share their list?
how about this SD who thought about it too late and its high season, there is no way on earth to get a decent place at any resort and there are no flights available that could guaranteee him to be back where he is supposed to be back?

Well the period one for me sometimes is actually true! I've gotten the "I have a cold" excuse. Haha because colds are so debilitating right? Men always have work related excuses too.
@Caribbe: I am sure that the SD was concerned about getting back on time for his move and still leave room for a margin of error.

I was dealing with this guy that I met once when I was feeling like hell and he was way too sexual with his conversation for a first meet. Whatever… decided to give him another chance.
Three times he called in the morning and had me drop everything I was doing so that we could meet up in the afternoon. Two of those times turned out to be wrong info, and he didn't want to meet until nightfall. I finally chewed him out, stating that my time is valuable, I'm working on a major project, and can't keep dropping things when all he could offer was mis-communication.
The third time I made it to my car and was driving to him when I got the text: My friend just called… he got into an accident on 95 and I have to help him. Sorry, but I'll call you later.
I told him not to bother. Total time waster.
Yeah one guy kept wanting me to meet at his house on the first meeting (he was off SDFM btw). I told him I wasn't comfortable meeting him at his house, that we should meet in a public location, i.e restaurant. He agreed to it and when I drove for about 10 mins, he called telling me his brand new benz wouldn't start so would I meet him at his place. I told him no; I knew he was full of shit. He got mad and I just blew him off completely. I don't have time to waste people.
OMG im going thru the same thing with this guy from SD4M he is very insistent that I meet him at his house and has already promised an allowance of $900 per “visit” escortish…. anyone? anyways this has been going on for days and finally i just kinda flipped out and told him either a public place or no meeting and on the day of the date he says his car broke down…what kind of BS is that? it just sounds fishy and dangerous especially to a new SB like me…no way! and then hes like ‘oh come’on I aint no Killa!’ just come over…no THANK YOU!
Excuses I've given:
1. I'm getting fitted for my wedding dress next week so I can't eat right now..
2. I just got my wisdom teeth removed.

2. With re-election coming up, I really shouldn't be seen out spending money
3. I just realized you go to school with my daughter.
My SB used the period excuse which turned out for my benefit thinking I would be grossed out . When I said I totally didn’t care and the meet was on she was delighted .
